THE TIMELESS WHITE BLAZER.....

Nothing speaks class and sophistication like THE WHITE BLAZER...and as an added perk it is TIMELESS..
One way to turn your outfit from "dull" to "diva" is to simply add a white blazer...I'm using a few pictures of Kim Kardashian simply because no one does as much white blazers as she does and she looks amazing in it every single time....

LET'S LOOK AT A FEW OPTIONS......

Add class to that short dress by adding THE WHITE BLAZER  and a  trendy  clutch ..

A cool evening out on the town  add a  WHITE BLAZER  over your tights and  top, with a statement  necklace and pumps..

Have a pair of boyfriend jeans, add a  trendy fringed white top, long disc earrings, bold shoes and of course THE WHITE BLAZER...and VIOLA!!!!!

Casual day for shorts..then add a simple tank, your favourite flats, bold necklace and of course THE WHITE BLAZER..and you will be turning heads

Browsing through Forever 21 I found the perfect WHITE BLAZER...It is 100% Rayon on the outside and 100% linen on the inside, wonderfully lightweight and perfect for the Caribbean and Summer heat..cost was only U$29.95..

As you can see below I paired the blazer up with a light peach top and Bohemian printed skirt, bold necklace and statement ring...

So go ahead and find your perfect white blazer and have fun...try various styles to add flare to your wardrobe..

INGLOT NYC VISIT!!!

After a wonderful visit to DEX NYC I ventured over to INGLOT at Times Square to do a little bit of shopping. I was extremely excited to have my Artist Portfolio now I wanted to begin filling it up. So first order of business at INGLOT was to purchase eye shadows from the Freedom Collection...

Here is a picture of the eye shadows out of the packaging and placed into the portfolio case

Now as I browsed through the store I came upon these gorgeous lip glosses. They are called the AMC Lip Gloss and it is a beautiful mix of iridescent colours that come together to form various knock-out shades of pink. The colour I got was #544..

Then finally I applied for my INGLOT Pro Membership, and I can safely say now I am officially an INGLOT Pro Member...*yay*...

In conclusion my visit to INGLOT was a huge success and I am very much impressed with their line of products (been using them about a year now), plus, they have been causing quite a stir lately with their heavily pigmented eye shadows and amazing gel liners, plus they give you the freedom to create your own palettes whether it's eye shadows, blushes, powders or foundations from a wide array of colour and shades.....

STAY TUNED..reviews on these products coming soon...

MY DEX NYC EXPERIENCE!!!!!!

So this weekend I ventured out to Manhattan and stopped by the DEX NYC studio to pick up one thing in particular BUT!!! what I left with was priceless....

First off I met Mr. Dex Phillip himself who was such a wonderful host. He actually took time off from a makeup workshop that was currently going on at the studio to answer my questions and briefly walk me through his products...AND....Do you know he is actually TRINIDADIAN....OH YEA!!! TRINI BABY!!!...

Ok a bit about DEX...This company produces an ,amazing mineral line of products which were inspired by the fashion world of New York City. All DEX products are loaded with rich, natural pigments and infused with advanced, anti-aging peptide complex, clinically shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while increasing brightness (HHMMMMMM) sounds incredible doesn't it??...well from the reviews I got it is pretty good and their products always grace the runways of NYC so I shall try them and review soon cause yes I got me some goodies *big grin*.....

Now besides the makeup DEX also carries one piece of tool that I think everyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Professional Makeup Artist should have and it's called the Artist Portfolio and it is simply amazing. Now it is a huge magnetic case that you can place all your refills in eliminating all those various palettes you maybe toting around...

The 2 inner pieces are magnetized
what the case looks like with refills

The case standing and all the pieces are still in place..
DEFINITELY A MUST-HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DEX NYC also has a Pro Artist Membership Program which I successfully joined over the weekend..Now this program gives it's member not only Pro discounts but invitation to product previews, discounts on workshops, invites to pro-only seminars, pro-to-pro parties.....I MEAN THE LIST IS ENDLESS!!!!... so to all my fellow Pro Artists it's time to get cracking on this one...

Now last but not least DEX has a very comprehensive workshop/class schedule throughout the year. From basic courses, to Pro courses to, Runway Makeup courses...even a hairstyling course which will be perfect for makeup artists....For more information on the courses schedule and prices visit their website..

Overall I had a wonderful experience and you will definitely be hearing more about DEX from me.  The product reviews coming soon....

Simply amazinggggggg

So I went to the store this past weekend to pick up some stuff, browsing through the isle I saw Cover FX Clear Prep Primer and thought hmmmmm I should try this one as well heard good reviews, why not, but sadly with everything else I purchased had to wait til next time......

HAHAA but here is where it gets interesting....I get to the cash register and found out I had racked up an amazing amount of point on my Sephora Beauty Rewards Card that I can actually get not one but two sample size of the same primer.....whattttttttttttttttttttt...*whoot whoot*....

So yes I will be testing this baby!!! and review coming soon.....

PRIMING PRODUCTS REVIEW

So after spending this entire week experimenting with primers I AM READY TO REVIEW!!!!!!!....

**drum roll**

So let's begin with Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Oil-free.....This product definitely does what it says it does.  First off the formula is not greasy or heavy, surprisingly light, glides on very smooth and absorbs into the skin beautifully.  Makeup application was a dream and as the day chugged along so did my makeup. I did have to blot some oil off my forehead and around my nose but was not the huge amount I was used too and even after blotting the makeup was intact and looked fresh...Added to that the quantity of product you are recieving, at this amazing quality, for the price is remarkable.  One downfall though *sad face* I still had to touch up makeup at my laugh lines BUT Definitely an addition to my kit without a doubt....

2 THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next on my list to review is the Smashbox Photofinish Targeted Pore and Line Primer....This stuff is the real deal when it comes to smoothing away those troublesome pores and fine lines, great for mature skin and yes I will definitely use it on my oily skin as well, it worked great at keeping the oil at bay AND I did not have to touch up my makeup at my laugh lines *whoot whoot*...The formula is a bit thicker than the Laura Mercier but that is to be expected as they perform different duties but still glides on the skin very smooth, no cakey or clumpy feeling..My face felt very supple after the application and makeup application was easy...
Believe it or not but I really do not have anything bad to say about this product at all.........

DEFINITELY ANOTHER 2 THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!!

Last but not least we have the NARS Pro Primer Face Prep *sigh*........first off I really did not like the fact that it is in a tub and you have to pick at it plus consistency of the primer wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too thick but it did glide on smoothly...Now this primer most people use to fill lines, wrinkles and to smooth out those troublesome pores as well. Once applied I did not get that nice supple feeling that you would experience once the product is absorbed into the skin, instead it just kinda sat there on top of the skin. Now yes my face looked alot smoother and makeup application was easy but I just hated the fact that it just sat there on my skin...Also as the day progressed I found myself having to pat the oils off my face a bit more that I should .....hmmmmm...did I get a faulty product????...confused..I have heard so much about this product and how great it is but overall I was not that impressed BUT with that said I may just give it another try and maybe experiment some more with other skin types before making a final decision...

1 THUMB UP FOR THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!......will I add this too my kit???? maybe..once I'm convinced..

STOP THE PRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So this past week I discovered GARNIER MOISTURE RESCUE REFRESHING GEL MOISTURIZER...thanks to a fellow MUA Faith Haller who raved about it (her blog info below).....AND I must say this product is wonderful, really impressed so far....

SO what makes it so AMAZING????..well it is a GEL and not a CREAM which, for me who has oily skin, is a huge plus and so you don't have to worry about that greasy feeling.... it absorbs instantly into the skin with a slight cooling effect and instantly you feel the difference, your skin gets a boost of moisture and it stays like this for the entire day...I MEAN SERIOUSLY JUST FABULOUS....

This product also contains Grape Water Extract which is an antioxidant that defends skin from external environmental aggressors and Vitamin E which smooths and conditions the skin.

I'm telling you this baby is BAD!!!!..and knowing that you can get this at any drug store and your neighbourhood Walmart, Target or grocery for about $6 makes it even more fabulous and to my Trinidadian readers I am positive you can get this at SuperPharm, Pennywise and at some of your local drug stores..At this point I may just toss my other moisturisers...

This can be a great addition to your makeup kit for persons with oily skin, mature skin, problem/acne-prone skin..I sure will be adding it to my kit!!

PRIMING PRODUCTS PT1

Yesterday I paid Sephora a lovely visit and purchased the Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation Primer. I have had my eyes on this baby for a while and so now I can finally begin experimenting.  This product is said to be one of  THE BEST makeup primers on the market with it's hybrid formula that helps create a smooth flawless finish......

I also wanted to purchase a primer that will specifically address fine lines, visible pores and scarring and so I was torn between the NARS Skin Smoothing Face Prep and Smashbox Photofinish Pore and Line Primer.  Both these products have had such great reviews...So the wonderful Sephora clerk actually poured up some samples for me to take home and play to help me decide which of the two I should purchase... and that I shall do....*yay*

So over the next couple days I will be experimenting with these primers and a full review will follow......

KRAZE HITS TRINIDAD!!!!

krAze kollection officially launched its high end female clothing boutique in Trinidad on Thursday 26th April, 2012, by none other than 22-year-old Rhion Romany.

Located at #40 Murray Street, krAze is determined to meet the needs of its clientele and is heavily focused on customer service. This boutique will be providing trendy, dressy, sexy and classy clothing, alongside fashion forward shoes and statement accessories, for women. And to step it up a notch "Exclusive Shopping" will be available...

This QRC past student was born and raised in Trincity. After high school, Rhion began furthering his education by pursuing a Bsc. in Accounting. During his four years at UWI St. Augustine he worked alongside Sonia Mack and behind the scenes of several fashion designers. After realizing his full potential he started planning his breakthrough in the fashion industry. Having gained experience from managing Amille Couture his unique sense of styling heightened from styling new soca artiste K. Rich. The “Nothing Less” Singer looks were mainly styled by Rhion Romany. From this, he realized he needed to fulfill his dream. With encouragement from his mother, he worked hard and brought forth what is now known as “krAze collection”.

"The concept for krAze came about with the help of some female friends. In Trinidad I realize women still have trouble finding that “right look” for special events eg. birthday, clubbing, fetes. Also, women love to get a man’s opinion on an outfit, after all it’s a man’s attention, she needs to get, not just any male but a stylish male."

What’s next for Rhion Romany and krAze????

“I’ll be hosting more private buying parties throughout the year. Also I will challenge myself and explore the designing field. I plan to design my first line of dresses named, ‘Orhion’s Belt’ which should be showcased before the end of 2012. This line of dresses will be for the curvy woman as I find they tend to be left out at times. I also have a few tricks up my sleeve. This is just the beginning.”

I must say I am pleased with what I am seeing so far and will definitely be visiting and maybe doing some business with krAze when I return to Trinidad in the summer.....And too all my "Trini" followers I'd say you should stop by and have some fun.....

Let's get krAze ya'll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
