NYFW MAKEUP: MARC JACOBS!

So for Marc Jacob's collection, he opted for a very 60s inspired look which is one of my fav looks so far.  A  banana-shaped line of shadow was applied with a brush to the crease of the lids for a very 1960s look, whilst dark liner was applied around the eyes.

Brows were heavily defined while skin and lips were of a pale/matte finish.....Great look for the runway!!!

NYFW SPRING 2013 DESIGNER OF THE DAY: BEHNAZ SARAFPOUR

Today I am featuring loved designer Behnaz Sarafpour......

She brought an ingenious mix of classic yet edgy, dipped in shades of yellow, pale pink and white leaving a somewhat angelic aura.  These feminine designs were set amid a very "Titanic" setting with the looming staircase and grand chandeliers, not forgetting the master ballroom......

Overall very simple yet bold pieces, would definitely love to get my hands on a couple....

NYFW SPRING 2013 DESIGNER OF THE DAY: ORGANIC BY JOHN PATRICK

So to kick off my series of posts on Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week Spring 2013, we're going to take a look at ORGANIC by JOHN PATRICK.....

This particular designer caught my attention because his collection reminded me a lot of our Caribbean aesthetic with its fuss-free, layer happy lineup anchored in tone-on-tone two-piece suits paired with slouchy, wide-legged line trousers, flirty, high-waisted cotton minis, and dare-to-bare shorties.  Simply gorgeous, very easy-breezy, after all it is a SPRING COLLECTION and I do think he captured that perfectly.

In his latest eco-conscious collection is inspiration came from living in a commune in the summer of 1973.  A "Hippy-haven" he called it.

HIS MESSAGE: "Its not body-conscious but, conscious of the body"

HOW I USE MAC FIX+

So recently I have been asked by several persons is the best use for MAC fix+ so today I am going to share how I use this product...

Firstly, what is MAC Fix+?....

Well it's and aqua-spritz of vitamins and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi (Japanese cedar).  So it practically gives the skin a good refreshing boost...

Now over time and with alot of experimenting there are quite a few uses that can come out of this product.  Many disagree that it is not a setting spray but I do spritz my face with it after I apply my foundation and concealer before my powder. In my opinion it does "set" the face with an added perk of the boosting effect.

It can also be applied after makeup application for a more natural look that is not too matte.

I also use it as a mixing medium for my pigments or eyeshadows.

It can be sprayed directly onto your makeup brushes to help control makeup fall out.

So as we can see there can be numerous uses for this product.  What do you use it for?

PAPARAZZI BAND LAUNCH

So Carnival 2013 band launch has officially begun with the first band showcasing their presentation this past Sunday July 8th.....

The name of the band is PAPARAZZI!!!!... This band is new for 2013 and promises a whole new experience...hmmmmmm

WHAT DO YOU THINK?????

L.A. COLORS JUMBO EYE PENCIL REVIEW...

So thanks to my makeup colleague Rachel Wright I discovered the LA Colours Jumbo Eye Pencil over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised...

Unlike other pencils that had more of a waxy texture, this product was extremely creamy and glided on with ease. Blending is no problem whether you are using your fingers or a brush..You may have to watch out for creasing and so I would suggest a primer..

 Also what I love about this product is the fact that there is a "wet" appearance when applied and so creates a very dark, sultry, smokey eye and so this is what we used primarily to achieve the look for San Fernando fashion week and it definitely made our work wayyyyy easier..

..This eye pencil can also be used as a base for your eyeshadow pigments because of its consistency....oohh and not forgetting, there are about 24 different colours....***.eeeeppppp**

SAN FERNANDO FASHION WEEK EXPERIENCE!!

This past weekend was San Fernando Fashion Week-End and yours truly was Head MUA for the final event on Sunday night and I must say WOW!!! what an experience that was...It was my first time heading a team and so I was in overdrive.....

The look was a wet, sexy smokey eye... and so I had my pics and face charts placed so that the team could refer too.... after everything was set up it was time to work..here are a few of the looks...

The team did exceptionally well especially under the extreme heated conditions and so hats off to you girls...

BRONZED, ILLUMINATED AND BEAUTIFUL....

It's the summer folks and by popular demand today we're going to be taking a look at BRONZERS AND ILLUMINATORS..

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAY ASK?...WELL...... ILLUMINATORS are primarily used to add subtle radiance to your skin or highlight certain features on your face. It often comes in a cream form.......BRONZERS are used to contour and sculpt the face, or to produce a subtle sun-kissed glow.  It often comes in powdered form…….

ILLUMINATORS can be mixed with your foundation and placed all over the face to create a fresh, dewy look, brightening the skin OR you can place it to show off your best assets (cheekbones, inner corners of the eyes, brow bone)..

So I am finally back in my homeland and EXTREMELY EXCITED...many things to blog about.  The fashion season is definitely in full swing and can't wait to be part of some of the shows doing makeup and just bringing to you all the juicy backstage action...

Carnival 2013 Band Launch season is almost here (it's like a fashion season in itself as well) with huge runway productions planned and yes yours truly will be around to show off some of the beautiful costumes for the 2013 season!!!! CAN'T WAIT....

And of course MAKEUP can't forget that..My first love!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So go ahead and find your perfect white blazer and have fun...try various styles to add flare to your wardrobe..

INGLOT NYC VISIT!!!

After a wonderful visit to DEX NYC I ventured over to INGLOT at Times Square to do a little bit of shopping. I was extremely excited to have my Artist Portfolio now I wanted to begin filling it up. So first order of business at INGLOT was to purchase eye shadows from the Freedom Collection...

Here is a picture of the eye shadows out of the packaging and placed into the portfolio case

Now as I browsed through the store I came upon these gorgeous lip glosses. They are called the AMC Lip Gloss and it is a beautiful mix of iridescent colours that come together to form various knock-out shades of pink. The colour I got was #544..

Then finally I applied for my INGLOT Pro Membership, and I can safely say now I am officially an INGLOT Pro Member...*yay*...

In conclusion my visit to INGLOT was a huge success and I am very much impressed with their line of products (been using them about a year now), plus, they have been causing quite a stir lately with their heavily pigmented eye shadows and amazing gel liners, plus they give you the freedom to create your own palettes whether it's eye shadows, blushes, powders or foundations from a wide array of colour and shades.....
